Where the Road Ends

Where the road ends is where you’ll find me
Alone

I walked the straight and narrow and it leaded me here
Alone

The road meets the dust and disappears
Lost?

I remember behind me, were green valleys
Lush

The mountains I left too
Beauty

But for some time now I’ve walked in the wilderness
Forsaken

It wasn’t so bad at times...I found pools of water
Refreshed

But now the wilderness has ended
Astray

The road meets the dust and disappears
Destitute

I look at the hard road and the sand that overtakes it
Empty

I am scared...I take the first step
Broken

The path is gone and I wonder aimlessly
Fear

Every direction looks the same and I wonder if I’ve walked in circles?
Abandoned

I wind blows against my skin and the sand blinds me
Hate

Pain cesses me...hungry, tired, thirst
Alone

The nights are cold and days worse
Deserted

Have I always walked this desert road?
Desolated

I see you...like a faint whisper
Life?

Are you there? I ask
Help?

I feel arms enclose me
Life!

You softly speck me name and show me the way
Rain

You come like the rain bearing life
Hope

I see the desert behind and I know still have a mountains climb
Love
